The course has a normal duration of two years. The first year offers fundamentals in economics, statistics, mathematics, and public policy, whereas second-year students explore specific topics such as public policy evaluation, data analysis applied to health economics and predictive analytics. This approach balances the consolidation of advanced theoretical skills with the development of practical skills that are ready to be employed.
A distinctive feature of the course is the intense seminar activity and the internship experiences in public and private institutions. Thanks to collaborations with prestigious partners, including Agenas, the Ministry of Health, the Conference of Regions, the Bank of Italy, and international organizations, students have the opportunity to apply the skills learned in the classroom in real-world settings. Study abroad trips are also planned to further enrich the educational experience.

The Master's Degree in Public and Health Economics (LM-56) offers a rigorous and interdisciplinary two-year program, fully taught in English, designed to train professionals capable of tackling complex challenges in public and health economics. The curriculum combines theoretical foundations with applied knowledge, focusing on quantitative tools, policy evaluation, and evidence-based decision-making.
The study plan is structured around four main pillars:
Economics and Public Policy: Students develop a deep understanding of public economics and health economics, including welfare systems, resource allocation, and policy design.
Quantitative Methods: Courses in econometrics, statistics, predictive analytics, and machine learning provide students with cutting-edge tools to analyze and interpret data relevant to economic and health policy.
Management and Law: Students gain insights into public sector accounting, governance, and legal frameworks regulating health systems at the national and European level.
Professional Experience and Thesis: A mandatory internship offers practical training in public institutions, international organizations, or private firms, while the final thesis involves original research under academic supervision.
The program includes 12 courses, elective credits, an internship, and a final dissertation. Throughout the two years, students engage in seminars, project work, and hands-on training that prepare them for both advanced academic research and high-responsibility roles in the public and private sectors.
